MBDA is leading an important research and technology effort on aero-propulsion covering a large set of propulsion technologies from high-speed dual-mode ramjet to detonation wave propulsion and hybrid electrical/chemical propulsion. MBDA is also working on the key issue of thermal management and developed innovative approach to control external flow thanks to near surface electrical discharges.
