Candidates Generation extracts regions of interest from the input image that are likely to contain a pedestrian avoiding as many non-pedestrian regions as possible, to be sent to the classification module. It is the first core module of a PPS, and the approaches can be divided into 2D-based, 3D-based and motion-based.
