This review paper examines the thermal, physical, and dielectric characteristics of nanofluids for heat energy transfer and dielectric applications. Different theoretical and experimental studies were carried out to know the importance of oxide-based nanofluids for thermal and electrical transformer applications. Conventional methods make it difficult to explain the thermal conductivity, viscosity, and dielectric characteristics of nanofluids. The sort of nanomaterial, particle size, percentage concentration, and synthesis methods play crucial roles in changes in the thermal, physical, and electrical properties of nanofluids. The present study gives information related to synthesis techniques of nanofluids, experimental methods, and mathematical models for calculation of thermal, physical, and dielectric properties.
