Abstract This chapter starts with the first neurophysiological study performed in aviation, dated back to 1878, and it represents the birth of the Aviation Medicine. The following three paragraphs provide the state of the art of neurophysiological and psychophysiological works concerning the most investigated and important mental states in aviation.
