In order to accurately predict the future development trend of container throughput at Jintang Dapukou Port, make port decisions and plans to face the changing market environment, it is necessary to establish a port container throughput prediction model. This article is based on data related to the cargo throughput of the port, and establishes a GM(1,1) grey prediction model. The average residual error and level deviation values obtained from the model are verified to have high accuracy and can be used to predict future port container throughput. The container throughput of Jintang Dapukou Port in the next seven months was predicted and the development of port logistics was analyzed based on the predicted results. By using grey prediction data as the basis for future port development, accurate judgments can be made for relevant departments to formulate future development plans and port development strategies, improve port production efficiency, achieve sustainable development of port logistics, cope with complex and changing domestic and international market price fluctuations and transportation price fluctuations, and maximize economic benefits as much as possible.
