The Çanakkale Strait is a difficult waterway with heavy commercial and local ship traffic. Also, the strait has great importance in environmental, historical, and economic perspectives. The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge is located in one of the riskiest parts of the strait in terms of navigational safety. In addition, since the bridge piers are located in the navigable waterways, the ship-bridge collision risk increased in the region. This situation poses a great threat to environmental sustainability. This chapter conducts a risk analysis by performing a bow-tie analysis on the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge in terms of navigational safety and environmental sustainability. The chapter also proposes applicable measures.
