Conceived for the uninitiated in space technology, this book is a quick introduction to the basics around this peculiar industry. Oddly, space is both simple and complex; the principles behind why artificial satellites and rockets achieve orbit are fairly straightforward, but to design machines that can work reliably in space for years—and at times carrying humans—is fairly complex. Written in an accessible language, and with zero equations, this text should be easy to understand by those coming from domains far away from the space domain.
