The rapid evolution of autonomous driving technology highlights the growing importance of intelligent vehicles in future transportation systems. Developers respond to the complexity of traffic environments and diverse driving tasks by creating thorough and effective testing methods, which are crucial for ensuring the safety of autonomous driving systems. This paper examines testing platforms for intelligent vehicles, primarily classifying them into simulation testing and real road testing. It explores the characteristics and challenges associated with both simulation and real road test platforms, and discusses how new technologies and methodologies can be applied to intelligent vehicle testing. The primary aim is to provide insights that guide future research efforts and practical implementations in this field.
