A ship’s repairing time may be defined as the duration of a ship’s stay in a shipyard for routine maintenance works. It is counted from the ship’s arrival date to the shipyard to departure date from the shipyard, including drydocking time. Drydocking time will be dealt with in a separate Chapter. During this time, the routine maintenance works under the hull, machinery and electrical are carried out under the supervision of the attending shipowner’s superintendent(s), ship’s crews, and the attending surveyor of the classification society as appropriate.
