Bogie is an important system of rail train and various loads are tranfered by bogie. Key component identification of rail bogie is helpful to ensure the safe operation of rail train. Therefore, an improved FMEA model based on intuitionistic fuzzy TOPSIS (IF-TOPSIS) method is developed to identify the key components of rail bogie. Firstly, experts provide linguistic terms for evaluating bogie component risks, and transform the risk evaluation information of failure modes into intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. Then, the intuitionistic fuzzy risk assessment matrix is constructed, and the entropy weights of risk factors are calculated. Finally, the common failure modes are sorted by IF-TOPSIS method and the key components of the bogie are found out. The result shows that the most vulnerable component is the air spring, and the lowest risk component is auxiliary power.
