Abstract Preventing terrorist attacks is the number one priority for most homeland security offices today. Explosives are the weapon of choice for most terrorists and the target is any populated area. Explosives detection is an active research field with several commercial offspring’s. However, very little is done on the system application side. To be practical and useful in the field, sensors need to be a part of a complete system solution that is adaptable to different user’s needs and skills.
