In this context, this study aims to derive key principles to harmonize locality in urban planning and management to pursue urban green growth. This study thus analyzes a Korean green urbanization case, the change and development of an urban stream known as Cheong-Gye-Cheon (CGC), an urban stream which has contributed to the remarkable growth of Seoul and Korea. Through identifying the major aspects of CGC’s green urbanization, authors deliver lessons that are essential for harmonizing locality and moreover pursuing urban green growth. In conclusion, this study further summarizes key lessons for harmonizing locality in urban context which can provide a guideline for government and municipal planners and decision makers to develop urban green growth strategies.
