Since the Coronavirus outbreak started, remoteRemote work has been an emergingEmerging phenomenon now more than ever. Unfortunately, with the emergence of remoteRemote work, mental health issues and increased stress levels have emerged as well. Teleworking has a significant emotionalEmotionalimpactImpact on employeesEmployees as reports of negative emotions such as loneliness, irritation, worry, and guilt were more apparent than with officeOffice-workers (Mann and Holdsworth in N Technol Work Employ 18:196–211 [15]). In this paper, a systematicSystematic literature review of various scientific research papers have been conducted regarding the mentioned phenomenon by using the keywords; “RemoteRemote Work”, “Work from Home”, “Stress”, and “Mental Health” in three different databases; ScopusScopus, Web of Science, and GoogleGoogle Scholar. The analysis shown in the upcoming sections of this paper were performed by using software tools such as Harzing’sHarzing Publish or Perish to obtain the MetadataMetadata from GoogleGoogle Scholar, MAXQDAMaxqda to obtain the word cloudWordcloud that shows the most frequent terms in the articles analyzed, VOSviewer to obtain co-occurrenceCooccurrenceand co-citationCo-citationclusterCluster diagrams, CitespaceCitespace to obtain the clusterCluster analysis and citation burst, VicinitasVicinitas to obtain the emergence and engagement indicators, and MendeleyMendeley to generate a reference list for the articles used in this paper. After conducting the systematicSystematic literature review shown in this paper, it can be concluded that remoteRemote work has a direct impactImpact on developing mental health issues and increased stress. Therefore, since this is an emergingEmerging issue, more research needs to be done to identify the exact reasons for the increased stress levels in individuals that work from home.
