Abstract Design of the Korea Lunar Pathfinder Orbiter (KPLO) attitude control subsystem is a unique challenge that requires refined models that simulate the cis-lunar and lunar orbital environments including coordinate frame changes, and a new sun-pointing control mode that satisfies Sun and communication pointing constraints. This paper introduces LUNASIM, a simulator for verifying the attitude control performance of KPLO. The simulation architecture is described, and attitude control performance verification results of the sun-pointing control sub-mode are presented.
