In 2019, Chen et al. proposed a new authentication and key exchange scheme using bilinear pairing for smart grid communications and claimed that their protocol can achieve several security requirements. In this paper, we base on Canetti and Krawczyk’s adversarial model to prove that Chen et al.’s scheme has also some security weaknesses.
