Abstract Apollo 11’s lunar landing was undoubtedly one of the most memorable events of the 20th Century. The Apollo Program, created to send a man to the Moon, was the culmination of a promise made by President John Kennedy during the heat of the Cold War, but ultimately, it became the most important scientific expedition of the century.
