In order to crystallize development opportunities and potentials of domestic trade containers, which are under the new economic development pattern and industrial development background, this thesis analyzes the development of domestic trade container throughput and domestic trade container hub ports. Besides, it clarifies the new driving force for the growth of the port's domestic trade container throughput. The thesis gives an in-depth study on the new driving force, development trend and future development path of domestic trade container development, and it also puts forward suggestions on accelerating the high-quality development of domestic trade containers in China. The results show that China's domestic trade container has great development potential in the future, whose throughput will be about 220 million TEU in 2035. The results also illustrate that building a smooth and efficient transport channel, strengthening the construction of hub ports, improving the transport network system and cultivating first-class comprehensive service providers are the essential way to high-quality development of China's domestic trade container transport. The research results have important reference value for decision-making of governments at all levels, and they are both significant to the relevant ports and shipping enterprises in China.
