We propose a coevolutionary game model in complex network, where each player is endowed with the ability of making a decision according to his interactive environment, and then switches his neighbors according to gossip of reputation information. Most previous models of reputation assumed that all agents’ reputation information is known to each other. In reality, everyone can’t have access to others’ reputation information easily. Accordingly, we allow a proportion of the population to share their reputation information by gossip. We show that the evolution of cooperation and agents’ strategies when agents interact with rewiring, gossip and rewiring based on gossip. By comparing the three sets of simulation results, we find that rewiring which is based on reputation can effectively favors the evolution of cooperation under the incomplete reputation information by gossip. Our work may provide a new insight of indirect reciprocity.
