Abstract The magnetic force pumps are widely used in place of petro-chemical industry, drugs manufacture and treatments for heart disease for their compact structure and reliable working. The design of the electromagnetic devices requires accurate calculation of the field parameters. Taking the bigger airgap and regular airgap boundary condition of the radial field permanent magnet coupler into consideration, analytical method is employed to solve the governing partial differential equations in the article. The electromagnetic field distribution for the inner rotor and outer rotor are obtained respectively by the analytical method, thus the torque is calculated and torque-angle curve is drawn.
