In this chapter, we discuss the synthesis of standard digital IIR filters based on a mapping of an analog filter to a digital filter or directly by using iterative methods in the z-domain. Special filters, e.g., filters with constant radius, half-band IIR filters, and filters meeting phase and group delay requirement are also designed.
