Abstract This chapter deals with the analysis of a ship owner’s requirements that are the starting point of ship design. That is, the first step of the initial design of a ship is to analyze a ship owner’s requirements. Then, the data of parent ships are surveyed and collected in order to effectively perform ship design. In addition, rules and regulations should be reviewed.
