This study delves into the increasingly pivotal role of mobility and well-being within urban transportation systems, underscoring the significance of vehicle occupants’ posture. The advent of innovative transportation modalities, such as ridesharing and electric scooter sharing, has highlighted the necessity for comfortable and health-conscious travel options. Given the direct correlation between proper seated posture and the mitigation of fatigue alongside the enhancement of well-being, our research is dedicated to the development of an advanced seated posture recognition system. Utilizing high-resolution cameras combined with artificial intelligence, the system is designed to detect and address posture irregularities. This approach not only aims to correct improper posture through auditory cues but also explores the potential for physical posture adjustments via vibration and seat modification mechanisms. The primary objective is to elevate the safety, comfort, and overall well-being of vehicle occupants, thereby contributing to the broader ambition of refining mobility infrastructures for the betterment of public welfare in the context of sustainable urban development.
