There is a significant issue in the analysis of traffic flow because of the uncertain variation in traffic stream speed on urban roads carrying mixed traffic. This situation has a great impact on Stream Equivalency value, as it changes suddenly with the decrease or increase in the speed of vehicles. The survey was conducted using videography to collect volume and speed at an interval of every 5 minutes including both peak and off-peak hours on selected urban road segments in Ahmedabad city. Dynamic PCU value, speed of traffic stream, and stream equivalency value are obtained from the collected field data. Inconsistencies found in obtained data of SE values have been eliminated by predicting the missing values using a neural network in “R” software. The method described in this work attempts to obtain a new or missing SE value involving its variation at a given stream speed that can be used for similar roads.
