The effective combination of traction grid and eco-driving of freight trains can utilize regenerative braking energy (RBE), save electrical energy consumption of substations; traditional energy-saving optimization for multi-train freight transportation can lead to network voltage fluctuations. To address the above issues, a “Train-Track-Power grid” (TTP) model is constructed, and a comprehensive optimization method for multi-train freight transportation (MTCO) is proposed. The TTP model consists of three parts: train kinematics model, traction drive system, and traction grid. In experiments, the effectiveness of the MTCO method is verified, and the differences between energy-saving objectives and network voltage stability objectives were analyzed.
