Abstract When the next program of human flight missions after the ISS is formulated, the planning should include precursor and parallel sequences of robotic missions to gain the knowledge needed for enhancing human performance. This paper sets forth some goals and methods for such a robotic program, with the assumption that the program will precede long-stay missions to the Moon.
