In this paper, an RBFNN adaptive control based longitudinal direct lift flight control system is designed, aiming at the demand for precise landing for carrier-based aircraft. Direct lift control (DLC) scheme is used to enhance the aircraft control maneuverability by introducing flap channels and to achieve rapid correction of vertical disturbances. An adaptive controller with RBF neural network is designed to realize adaptive approximation of air wake disturbance and modeling uncertainty, considering the ability of RBFNN to approximate arbitrary uncertainties. The asymptotic stability of the control system is proved by Lyapunov theory. Simulation results verify the effectiveness and accuracy of the controller with the 6-DOF non-linear aircraft model.
