Buffeting is a vibration caused by periodic vortex shedding due to flow separation from an adverse shape in a viscous flow, which excites structural vibrations. This paper studies the methods for determining buffeting on flight tests, combs through the buffeting judgment methods of different aircraft models at home and abroad, focuses on the airworthiness requirements for buffeting, and focuses on the analysis based on the flight test pilot's events and vibration acceleration data at the pilot's seat to establish the threshold values of vibration acceleration at the pilot's seat in the time domain or frequency domain as the buffeting criteria.
