The radio wave propagation effects and propagation prediction methods for satellite systems mentioned in the previous chapters are primarily utilized in satellite system link reliability design and interference coordination analysis, but can also be applied to satellite system performance evaluation. To overcome the difficulty of system interruption caused by fading, the traditional anti-fading method used is the system reserve margin method, that is, the attenuation value that should be less than the communication rate of the system is estimated via propagation, and then the power margin of the system is reserved according to the attenuation value.
