In order to satisfy the requirements of evaluating submarine search effectiveness deploying Magnetic anomaly detecting UAV swarms in the anti-submarine warfare command system, the performance of the single-column and multi-column MAD UAVs in detecting submarines is simulated and evaluated. This paper first discusses the features and benefits of MAD-equipped UAVs. Then based on the submarine underwater motion model as well as the magnetic anomaly detecting model, single-column and multi-column UAV swarm anti-submarine simulations are set up and carried out. The column formation UAV swarm anti-submarine performance statistics in common settings are compared and analyzed. The trade-offs between analytical solutions and simulations are further discussed, providing thoughts and instructions on similar equipment and sensor performance evaluations.
