An integrated power converter for electric vehicles is proposed based on the asymmetrical half bridge power converter of switched reluctance motor with an added front-circuit. Two working modes of motor driving and battery charging can be realized by the front-circuit. In the motor driving mode, the capacitor increases the voltage to increase the torque, the capacity estimation method of capacitor is given. In the battery charging mode, the motor winding is used as the charging inductor and it has the PFC charging function to improve the AC signal effectively. The limited condition of the motor winding is analyzed. The MATLAB model is built, the influence of different capacity on system performance is compared. The results of driving and charging modes are analyzed.
