Failures in power systems of rail transit systems lead to the disruption of transportation, which causes significant economic losses and profound social effects. We consider the application of smart energy system to power fault monitoring of rail transit. The causes of these failures are often not immediately determined in the existing rail transit power monitoring system, and this situation will prolong the repair time. To analyze accidents and immediately determine faults in the rail transit power systems, the entire power data acquisition system of a rail transit is built on the basis of the existing power system. Data acquisition, processing, and computing of power system AC phasor are achieved through precision sampling of phasor measurement units and advanced algorithms. Furthermore, problems of decentralized power equipment and data transmission delay are solved through clock synchronization technology. At the same time, the shortage of power data acquisition system is effectively compensated by demonstration project, which is beneficial to the safe operation of power supply system of Shanghai urban rail transit. In this case, equipment failure of the rail transit power system, fault location, and repair time are reduced.
