Abstract Gasdynamics of explosions concerns the interrelationship between rate processes resulting in the deposition of a significant amount of power in the working substance, and its concomitant nonsteady motion. Fundamentals of this subject are based on nonsteady gasdynamics and the detonation theory; applications bear upon the extension of performance range of rocket propulsion systems. Presented here are basic elements of the theory.
