With the huge demand and rapid development of urban rail transit in China, congestion problems are bound to occur. In this paper, we study the passenger congestion in metro stations during peak hours and the evaluation of corresponding passenger flow control measures. And a system dynamic (SD) simulation model is to be established, including building layout, station facilities and equipment, passenger flow input and flow control measures. In the modeling process, the evaluation indexes of flow control measures are established. With the help of the SD simulation model, the locations and reason of passenger congestion in urban rail transit stations can be identified, and the effectiveness and efficiency of various flow control measures can be evaluated. In the case study, the passenger flow parameters are investigated to establish a SD model. After flow control schemes are set, simulation based on SD is used to evaluate and compare the effectiveness and efficiency of the schemes. The results of the study show that the SD simulation model of urban rail transit stations can provide targeted suggestions for their active passenger flow control schemes, and can effectively improve the overall urban rail transit station efficiency and facilitate passenger evacuation.
