The efficiency of cargo turnover is determined by the presence of an extensive network of transport routes, their throughput, technical characteristics of vehicles, their speed of movement and other parameters. The number of highways is growing steadily, the quality of road systems is gradually improving, at the same time consumer demands are growing. All these facts provide prerequisites for the possibility of changing the existing restrictions in order to increase cargo turnover. In connection with the increase in cargo turnover, it becomes necessary to transport large volumes of goods. The easiest way to increase the volume of winter cargo is to use more trailed links. The issue of constructing a nonholonomic model of turning a road train with an active trailer is considered: the formation of a set of basic hypotheses and a design scheme, the compilation of the Routh equation, the determination of the components of the equation. The work considers the behavior in the turn of various promising options for multi-link road trains. To simulate the turn of road trains, the program complex “Universal Mechanism” was used. The behavior of the road train is investigated under the following conditions: when driving at a speed of 20 m/s, a sharp jerk of the steering wheel is made. In the course of the work, the stability indicators of road trains were revealed and it was shown that the road train of the B-Double type is safer in a turn.
