Abstract This paper presents a high precision simulation model for single phase heated tubes of power plant boilers. The model takes into account not only the dynamic process of the working fluid velocity, but also the coupling effect of the enthalpy-temperature channel and the pressure-flux channel of working fluid. By simulations of a heated tube of the rear superheater of a 600 MW controlled circulation boiler, the validity and feasibility of the model is verified. The present model can be integrated into virtual power plant simulation platforms for better debugging advanced power plant control systems, e.g. the automatic plant startup and shutdown control system (APS).
