Tariff policy in the field of railway transport in international traffic deserves special attention. Passenger carriers operate in conditions of fierce competition in the transport market and the ticket price is often the most important factor affecting the consumer’s choice of mode of transport. University experts have developed an integrated model for assessing the elasticity of demand under the influence of various factors. The model was tested using the results of marketing research on specific passenger train routes in international traffic. Demand elasticity curves are constructed with decreasing and increasing fare in a passenger train on the Moscow-Chisinau route.
