An integrated controller is designed to improve the stability of distributed electric vehicles in complex maneuvers. The integrated controller contains multiple actuators and control systems. The integrated controller aims to improve the dynamic performance of vehicle by adjusting the active wings angle of attack, calculating the optimal active steering angle of the rear wheels, optimizing the vector torque, and coordinating the activation of the aerodynamic wings and active rear wheel steering system through an integrated control strategy. Then, a series of complex maneuvers tests are designed to evaluate the performance of the integrated controller. The results indicate that aerodynamic wings have a significant impact on vehicle stability during various road surfaces and turning maneuvers. It can fully utilize the advantages of each subsystem and effectively reduce the output of driving wheel vector torque. In double lane change test and snake steering test scenario, the peak value of the additional yaw torque under the integrated controller is 71% and 8.2% smaller than that under traditional direct yaw control, respectively. The integrated controller can effectively enhance the vehicle’s handing performance in complex maneuvers.
