Nowadays tracking algorithms are widely used in a variety of surveillance data proceeding systems. Simple structure, low computation power required and high filtering performance of normally distributed errors make tracking filters useful for airplane trajectory data filtering. Airplane trajectory data obtained under Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) from the ground network of software-defined radios include errors of on-board sensors which degrade total surveillance performance. Also, airplane trajectory data may include multiple gaps due to poor ground network configuration or interference action in congested airspace. In the paper, we study application of tracking filters such as Alpha-Beta, Alpha-Beta-Gamma, and Alpha-Beta-Gamma-Eta to airplane trajectory data processing obtained by ADS-B. Simplified formulas of tracking filters are present in the paper. We consider latitude, longitude, and barometrical altitude data represented in airplane position reports which are transmitted by on-board transponder of Mode 1090ES. In the numerical study, we use raw airplane trajectory data of a particular flight with multiple gaps to study tracking algorithms performance.
