3U CubeSat stabilization towards the Sun is analyzed. The satellite is equipped with solar telescope of the vacuum ultraviolet spectrum. Stabilization of the optical axis of the telescope is achieved through the use of either reaction wheels or magnetorquers. The desired level of stabilization accuracy is set at two angular minutes per second. Performance of both control systems is compared on a Sun synchronous orbit. The study formulates the necessary operational conditions for the satellite’s successful functioning and establishes the key parameters of its control systems.
