This paper aims to examine a unified approach to maritime safety that integrates technical, operational, organizational and environmental factors into a single management system. It examines in detail the technical aspects affecting ship safety, including design, equipment and compliance with global standards. Also considered are operational factors such as pre-sail protocols, crew and passenger safety. The development of safety policies, risk management strategies and pollution prevention measures are also considered. An integrated approach to maritime safety that includes thorough risk assessment and management at all levels of ship operation is emphasized.
