Control Moment Gyroscopes have been the actuator technology of choice for agile satellites for over 40 years. It would be difficult to imagine a question at this point for which flight data does not exist to support an answer. Unfortunately, as discussed in Chap. 1, all of the early work in this arena supported government programs from which access to flight data is restricted. Industry and academia have only recently fielded flight programs from which on-orbit data could be drawn. The authors, in our desire to provide sample data from an actual flight program, have chosen a specific experimental mission on which some of us were directly involved.
