Learning by applying motivates learners to put the theory into practice. However, at least in the Global South, it seems that the concept of applying seems to be not common yet in K-12 education, even for technology related subjects. We conducted an educational robotics (ER) workshop with the aim of exploring how collaborative learning can aid secondary school and primary school learners grasp robotics. The qualitative analysis indicates that learners were exposed to robotics and coding knowledge through this ER workshop, and they further wanted to learn more about these technologies. The results can be applied by practitioners in Namibia when considering incorporating robotics in the formal school curriculum, after-school robotics programs and robotics boot-camps.
