Abstract The suspension is what links the wheels to the vehicle chassis and allows relative motion. This chapter covers the suspension mechanisms, and discusses the possible relative motions between the wheel and the vehicle chassis. The wheels, through the suspension linkage, must propel, steer, and stop the vehicle, and support the associated forces.
