The adoption of green design and operation practices in railway transport hubs is pivotal in advancing the ‘green transformation’ of China’s transportation industry and achieving the ‘Double Carbon Target.’ This paper integrates the unique development characteristics of railway transport hubs (RTHs) with the principles of ‘Programming and Post-occupancy Evaluation’ of green buildings. It proposes design decision processes and models. Using Taiyuan South Railway Station, Zhengzhou East Railway Station, and Hangzhou East Railway Station as case studies, it explores passive design energy conservation, bridge construction integration, green energy utilization, and more. These examples offer reference ideas and technical approaches for the design and implementation of green buildings in RTHs.
