Abstract Product development using Rapid Prototyping methods for direct usage is a new emerging concept in engineering. Such products exhibit inherent cracks which make it necessary to study its fracture aspects. In the current study, mixed-mode stress intensity factors are investigated for an inclined crack in a plate built with rapid manufacturing process employing Polyjet technology. The parameters in consideration are crack length ratio, crack angle, and layer-built angle, and design of experiments based on full factorial design is incorporated and performed. Finite element analysis is also carried out to compare it with the experimental results. The results show that the parameters under consideration have a significant effect on the stress intensity factors of slant edge crack plate.
