With the continuous development of economic, the city expands to the outside and the function of the suburban arterial highway changes. The arterial highway under urbanization is bound to generate congestion problems at the entrances and exits. Taking the alfalfa leaf type interchange of Nanjing ring expressway Dongyangfang as an example, a numerical simulation model using VISSIM is proposed to combine different influencing factors and use variance to determine the main influencing factors and the degree of influence. The results show that the position of the exit sign front is the main influencing factor for the exit section; the main factor affecting the vehicle speed of the entrance section is the length of the variable speed lane as well as the factor having a greater influence on the intertwined section is the length of the intertwined section.
