Abstract The complexity of newly developed cars in the automotive industry has vastly increased during the last decades. This concerns hardware as well as software aspects. One main challenge is to maintain the established and common development cycles to be able to meet the expectations of the customers. That implies an efficient and effective development and production environment and the constant increase of the quality and the functional range of newly introduced cars.
