A method is developed for theoretical determination of the averaged elastic and strength characteristics of a folded core in the transverse direction. An approximate solution of the problem of deformation of an averaged core under kinematic loading of one of the external layers is constructed. Final analytical formulas for determining the critical values of stresses formed in the core are obtained.
