The paper focuses on the influence of the type of traffic organization on the behaviour of pedestrians at tram tracks crossings on an example of two Polish cities: Wroclaw and Gdańsk. Authors indicates the differences in pedestrian behaviour depending on the type of traffic organization - especially taking into account if it contains traffic lights or not. The conclusions, made on a basis of field tests, are the basis for making a suggestion to change pedestrian traffic organization at the crossings of tram tracks in most Polish cities. Authors suggest to minimize to use of traffic lights at pedestrian crossings.
