In the previous chapter, we have had a preliminary understanding of the framework and basic usage of ROS and learned how to program the basic functions of ROS, such as basic nodes, messages and services. During the development process, it is inevitable that various software/hardware problems will be encountered and the program needs to be debugged. ROS provides a large number of commands and tools to help developers debug their code. In order to solve various problems encountered during development, these commands can help developers understand information about nodes, topics, etc. This chapter will mainly introduce the commands and tools commonly used for ROS debugging and summarize the basic ROS commands, which are very helpful for solving the problems encountered during debugging robots, and developers should be proficient in these commands.
